There's a Helicopter on the Roof and Nobody Knows Why

KNOX COUNTRY. At some point on Tuesday evening a load of machines turned up in the county that absolutely weren't there before, and nobody saw a thing. There's a helicopter on the roof of a military building west of Rosewood with a full tank and the key in the ignition. A second one parked itself on the pad below, apparently on its own.

There are army trucks. There are fire engines. There's a Hilux, a Humvee, and a Japanese sports car that nobody in rural Kentucky could have afforded in 1993. Where any of it came from, nobody's saying, and honestly nobody's asking. You don't look a free helicopter in the mouth.

What else turned up

• Guns. Loads of them, in lockers, in car boots, and in one case in a gun room seventeen floors underground.
• Food. Tins and packets the county never used to stock. Check the label before you eat anything, which was good advice before the world ended too.
• Music. Cassettes and CDs of songs that, strictly speaking, haven't been written yet.
• Clothes. Jackets that actually open, bags that actually fit, and a whole new wardrobe to bleed on.
• Tattoos. For anyone who wants their bad decisions to be permanent.
• Dancing. People have been spotted waving, saluting and dancing in the street. In a zombie apocalypse. We have questions.

The raid mixtape
